FILO (First In Last Out) is an organization focused on providing skill development, community and inspiration for technical artists within the local church in order to make them more effective contributors. As with so many organizations when COVID hit, they thought that they could no longer hold their annual event. Until Sardius stepped in.

While Sardius have nearly always produced events that are a hybrid of live in-person and online delivery. The lockdown has meant that events have become 100% virtual and this would be the case with FILO. This is where Sardius shines.

FILO had a number of requirements that had to be met in order to provide the exceptional experience they needed:

1. Simulated Live - While the broadcast of all the sessions appeared “live” and the whole event was structured just like an on-site experience, the presentations were all pre-recorded, which gave the presenters freedom to be present in the chat rooms beside their presentations and answer questions to their presentation in real-time.
2. Multiple Breakout Sessions - Similar to an onsite conference, FILO’s virtual experience had multiple breakout tracks happening simultaneously depending upon the interest of the participants. If participants missed a session they could always catch up with the subsequent video-on-demand archives, but the conference was structured online in much the same way as an onsite event.
3. Dynamic Sponsor Experience - Like many other events that Sardius support, the existence of the event is only made possible by the inclusion of sponsors. And as with most events sponsorship comes with different levels. Building brand awareness for these sponsors into the watch page as well as including actual sponsor breakout sessions with sponsor reps being able to connect to attendees throughout the event meant that it was a value add for each of the FILO sponsors.

Result

The event streamed without a hitch. The requirements were fulfilled and the engagement in the FILO 2020 was surprisingly higher than just previous on-site only events.
